Opening Prayer Program

ANOTHER YEAR (or how this year, Mike Leigh kick your ass in Woody Allen)

It was released on screens this week but made a few months I have seen when he was selected for Cannes, where he was happily at work compared to Woody Allen as the tragi-comedy of situations gathers favorite subjects the old New Yorker bespectacled. Yet it is obvious to note that Another Year is in all respects than You'll meet a handsome, dark stranger , and Mike Leigh and his smile made this year's lunch at Woody with a subtlety notorious.
With four seasons in the life of a couple of nice middle-class retirees soon, Leigh portrays the bittersweet life as it is and as it goes, in the social microcosm which includes Tom and Gerri (haha) . Dissect around the seasons of the son visits almost thirty single, nonchalant Epicurean who chose to wait for happiness rather than to run after, longtime friend and his neuroses old girl looking for love but which is still a picky eater, the dude away, widower brother, a small company that revolves around this couple a apparent prosperity. It is also not an appearance as Tom and Gerri (haha again) live their happiness with the purest benevolence, their philosophy and work with their lives without ever being a slave of time passing. This is what happiness splashing causing the implosion of environmental cocoon, which was already outlined in Be Happy ( Happy-Go-Lucky ) with more than hype: the overwhelming mood of heroin tended everyone, the monitor driving school first, and the viewer at the same time. Happiness to some is the misfortune of others it seems, or at least contributes ... That once the course of depression crossed that gravity moves therefore Another Year, and has done for the smile. All those who have confused reality with realism, and have sought in vain for happiness rather than enjoyment, without trying to build it day by day, falling from above. The film becomes even more profound, without falling into the drama as Mike Leigh knows how to punctuate the narrative sincere smiles. But more is just portrait of these people everyday, which could be those that one meets and rubs, and not happy with the positive of their existence provided material constraints, drool with envy at those who know how to draw, and give to grind the grain of philosophy as Mike Leigh serves us on a platter of flowers, just what it takes to be delectable.
